Rogen takes the globe home, the demon hunters take the globe home, and PTA Takes the globe home.
I watched this year’s 83rd Golden Globes on Paramount+, hosted by Nikki Glaser, and I think there were some good choices. Some of my choices won, some had some good reasons for winning, and one winner I didn’t really recommend. Now, let’s see who won this year.
Movies

Best Picture (Drama): “Hamnet”
Best Picture (Musical/Comedy): “One Battle After Another”
Best Animated Picture: “KPop Demon Hunters”
Best Non-English Language Picture: “The Secret Agent”
Best Actor in Drama: Wagner Moura in “The Secret Agent”
This was my second favorite international film of 2025 behind “It Was Just An Accident,” and it is a daring, bizarre, and brilliant Brazilian film. And Moura is the right man to lead it. He is also the first Brazilian actor to win for Best Actor in Drama.
Best Actress in Drama: Jessie Buckley in “Hamnet”
Best Actor in Musical/Comedy: Timothee Chalamet in “Marty Supreme”
The youngest winner in this category.

Best Actress in Musical/Comedy: Rose Byrne in “If I Had Legs, I’d Kick You”
I was one of the few film critics to not like this movie, because it was too stressful with the daughter acting all bratty and every stressful situation thrown at the mother, but I still thought Byrne did a great job playing a mother in situations like those.
Best Supporting Actor: Stellan Skarsgard in “Sentimental Value.”
His second Golden Globe win.
Best Supporting Actress: Teyona Taylor in “One Battle After Another.”
When she cries on stage, you can tell she’s a great actress in movies and in real life.

Best Director: Paul Thomas Anderson for “One Battle After Another”
Best Screenplay: Paul Thomas Anderson for “One Battle After Another”
Best Original Score: Ludwig Goransson for “Sinners”
Best Original Song: “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters”
Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement: “Sinners”
Can’t you take the hint? This is an arbitrary award, people! My favorite movie of 2025 did, however, help Warner Bros. get its box office winnings back.
Cecile B. DeMille Award: Helen Mirren
TV
Best TV Series (Drama): “The Pitt”

Best TV Series (Musical/Comedy): “The Studio”
This was my favorite TV series of 2025, and Seth Rogen deserves to win the awards. And there was an episode where he wanted a shoutout at the Golden Globes. So, win win. As my friend of mine said: “Cue, Seth’s stoned laugh.”
Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or TV Movie: “Adolescence”
Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on TV: Ricky Gervais” in “Ricky Gervais: Mortality”
Best Actor in TV Series (Drama): Noah Wyle in “The Pitt.”
Best Actress in TV Series (Drama): Rhea Sheehorn in “Pluribus”
Best Actor in TV Series (Musical/Comedy): Seth Rogen in “The Studio”
Best Actress in TV Series (Musical/Comedy): Jean Smart in “Hack”
This is her third Golden Globe win, and she won last year for the same role.
Best Actor in Limited Series, Anthology Series or TV Movie: Stephen Graham in “Adolescence”

Best Actress in Limited Series, Anthology Series or TV Movie: Michelle Williams in “Dying for Sex”
Williams couldn’t be there to accept the Golden Globe, so the presenters Melissa McCarthy and Kathryn Hahn accepted it on her behalf.
Best Supporting Actor on TV: Owen Cooper in “Adolescence”
Best Supporting Actress on TV: Erin Doherty in “Adolescence”
Carol Burnett Award: Sarah Jessica Parker
Best Podcast: “Good Hang with Amy Poehler”
This is a first time for this event, and I’m sure it won’t be the last.
