“The Power of the Dog” wins, “Succession” wins, they all win.
It’s that time of the year when the Golden Globes announce the winners and losers of the best of the best of movies and television. Of course, I’m annoyed that they overlooked “The Mitchells vs The Machines” in their animation category and “The Tragedy of Macbeth” in their Best Picture category, but at least Denzel Washington has been nominated for his role in that masterpiece.
The biggest change this year, however, was that neither red carpets no livestreams could take place because of the recent Omicron variant, and the fact that the HFPA has no African-American members. So the announcements of the winners had to be made on the Golden Globe website after 9PM (ET). Boy, that’s a lot of fun.
