This sequel gets a triple dose of headaches, action, and cliches. First, Gerard Butler as Mike Banning had to save America in “Olympus Has Fallen,” next, he had to save London in […]
Angel Has Fallen
The Angry Birds Movie 2
A feathery sequel is made only for kids with a lot of sugar energy. For those of you unfamiliar with the “Angry Birds” game, the green pigs stole the birds’ eggs; so […]
Spider-Man: Far From Home
My Spidey Senses are tingling: this sequel is fun. For those of you who didn’t see “Avengers: Endgame,” and that would be the few of you, then don’t read this review of […]
Toy Story 4
With an adventure so playful and a heart so big and plushy, this fourth outing has a Friend in Me. “Toy Story” is probably the greatest animated franchise of all time. Ever […]

Men in Black International
Without Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, this MIB continuation is bland and unfunny. A funny thing happened to me during a screening of “Men in Black International.” The movie was zoomed […]
Dark Phoenix

Too many special effects, cheesy one-liners, and pointless narrative Call me a monster, call me cynical, and call me a jerk all you want. I still thought “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” […]
The Secret Life of Pets 2
Cute animals are fun, but they’re given less to do in formulaic sequel. Box Office Mojo has described the original “Secret Life of Pets” as one of the best openings for an […]
Like Shaft, Like Shaft
These cats are cool, but their movies lack scripts. The new “Shaft” movie opens this June, and it reunites Samuel L. Jackson as John Shaft II and Richard Roundtree as John Shaft […]
